AI companions for stories: what to compare before starting

Compare character catalogs, conversation privacy and interface languages when choosing a service for your stories.

Decide what kind of conversation you want

A companion can be a character in a shared story, a partner for short conversations or a guide to a fictional world. Pick one scenario and the tone you want. In Starfall, start with the catalog and a character page, read the description and open a chat. To invent your own character, create a card in Studio. Begin with their personality and opening scene, and add further settings as you need them.

Check how the conversation continues

Start with a specific event, then return after a pause. Do the topic, names and mood carry through? To test memory, give a fictional character a favorite place, change that detail later and ask about a new meeting. Recall and handling corrections both matter. Starfall uses facts and history search; memory limits depend on the plan.

Distinguish the public card from your own chat

Other visitors can read a catalog description, while your conversation takes place in your own chat. When creating a character, check its visibility before publication and include only details you intend to share. Keep personal contact details and information about other people out of public cards. If you notice an issue in the catalog, use the in-app report feature or the support contacts page.

Compare terms using a story you enjoy

Try several scenes with one character before choosing a paid plan. Compare how easily you can continue, the memory capacity and conversation limits. A feature count alone does not tell you whether a dialogue style suits you. Starfall's interface is available in Russian and English, and you can filter card languages separately. Plan names stay the same; prices and payments are in Russian rubles. Access is for adults aged 18 and over.
